“I love you so much I’ll never be able to tell you; I’m frightened to tell you. I can always feel your heart. Dance tunes are always right: I love you body and soul: —and I suppose body means that I want to touch you and be in bed with you, and I suppose soul means that I can hear you and see you and love you in every single, single thing in the whole world asleep or awake.”—Dylan Thomas (via atomiclanterns)
“I’ve come by, she says, to tell you
that this is it. I’m not kidding, it’s
over. this is it.
I sit on the couch watching her arrange
her long red hair before my bedroom
she pulls her hair up and
piles it on top of her head-
she lets her eyes look at
then she drops her hair and
lets it fall down in front of her face.
we go to bed and I hold her
speechlessly from the back
my arm around her neck
I touch her wrists and hands
feel up to
she gets up.
this is it, she says,
this will do. well,
I get up and walk her
to the door
just as she leaves
I want you to buy me
some high-heeled shoes
with tall thin spikes,
black high-heeled shoes.
no, I want them
I watch her walk down the cement walk
under the trees
she walks all right and
as the pointsettas drip in the sun
I close the door.”—Eat Your Heart Out by Charles Bukowski
I can’t pick just one!:)My all-time favorite are Vanity Fair by Thackeray, Simulacres et Simulation by Jean Baudrillard and Kafka on the Shore by Murakami. Though I think there are will be more favorites as I mature and some books get new meaning for me that I did not notice before.
what got you into asian culture? what do you love about it?
Well, it’s all started about a year ago when I first watched Death Note, then opened for myself brilliant korean movies, started listening to Tablo, Shiro Sagisu, and many other great artists. Last spring-summer I had a lucky chance to visit Seoul <3 and stay in Hong Kong for a month. I felt it’s something that I’ve been missing and looking for all my life.
The most thing I love about asian culture is amazing ability of asian people to keep with their rich traditions while keeping to move forward and forward.
